See a First Responder? You Need to Move Over

As part of its commitment to keep drivers safe, Autosaver Imports wants you to know that all 50 states now have move over laws on the books. These laws have been put in place in order to keep law enforcement officers and other emergency workers safe when they conduct business on the shoulder or the side of the road.

The move over laws require that when an emergency vehicle has its lights flashing that you move over into the other lane if you are on a multi-lane road. If you are on a two-lane road, you must slow down and move over as far as possible from the emergency vehicle when it is safe to do so.

There are stringent penalties in place for those who violate the move over regulations. In some states, you can be fined up to $500 for a first offense. If someone gets injured, jail time is possible.
